Data for your simulation can be uploaded from a file rather than keyed in. This feature also enables you to upload up to 1,000 items. To use this feature a valid license key is required. License keys are available in a variety of plans and are available by clicking here.

You may want to validate your file before purchasing a license key. To do this browse for the file you want to validate and then press Validate.

Submitted files must be in comma delimited text format (csv) with no header row and with the following fields in the following order (item name, low estimate, medium estimate, high estimate and percentage probability):

Step by Step Instructions:

• From the “Simulation Data Entry” page, enter a valid license key.
• Click the "Browse" button to locate the csv file you are uploading.
• Click the "Upload" button.
• The uploaded data will be displayed in the form. If you have uploaded more than 20 items the first 10 items and the last 10 will be displayed, for verification purposes. You will also see a count of the total number of items loaded.
• If any errors are encountered uploading the file they will be displayed at the top of the page.

Notes:

If your file is not being accepted, you should make sure that:

• You only have 5 fields per line.
• You do not include fields with embedded commas.
• You do not have more than 1,000 items in the file.
• All fields are separated by commas.
• Do not include header records containing column names in the file.
• Do not include characters, such as $, % or words in the numeric fields.
• Negative numbers should be prefixed with a - rather than be in parenthesis () i.e. -100 and not (100)
• The maximum file size you can upload is 200KB.
• The percentage field should always be between 0 and 100.
• The low estimate cannot be higher than the medium estimate.
• The medium estimate cannot be higher than the high estimate.
• Spaces at the beginning or end of a field are ignored.
